Introducing the Dutton Family Theater Youth to Youth Program!

At the Dutton Family Theater, we are dedicated to making the student/youth experience in Branson one that will inspire and educate future generations.  The magic of this program is having young people share with other young people.  All of our presentations and workshops are given by a young performer partnered with an exceptional adult teacher for an “Edu-tainment Adventure” that your students will talk about for years to come!

• On Stage Performance: Your performance group can have the opportunity of being the opening act at The Duttons’ Award Winning Show!  Aided by our professional staff your group will be enhanced by the sound, lights and video of our theater and a professional 4-camera video of your live performance will be filmed and edited and available for purchase after the show.  (One complimentary copy of the DVD is provided to the director.)

Workshops :We offer a variety of 15-30 minute workshops to enhance your visit, including:

• Young Entrepreneurs: 16-year-old Selena Dutton and 22-year-old Jessica Dutton share inspiring examples of youths they have known or read about who have successfully started businesses and careers.  What are the qualities to successfully meet challenges in life?  Opportunities that Selena and Jessica (as well as the other Dutton children) are taking advantage of in their lives.
• Social Media Marketing: 22-year-old Jessica and her mother Judith Dutton discuss the latest trends in Social Media and how those effect advertising and marketing as a whole at the Duttons.
• String Workshop: Amy Dutton, awarded Branson’s Best Violinist, and 12-year-old son, Damian, tailor this workshop to any level of player and all orchestral string instruments.
• Guitar Workshop: Branson’s Most Versatile Musician: Timothy Dutton and his 16-year-old son Tim discuss the skills and styles required to be a versatile guitarist.  Can be adapted for any skill level.
• Microphone Technique for Young Singers: Proper use and technique with a microphone – and we don’t mean knowing how to do a “mic drop!”  Taught by Amy Dutton and a pair of Dutton teenagers (with some assistance from our sound man, Alex), this is the workshop that every young singer should take!
• Blocking, Staging and Balancing the Stage: This seminar will demonstrate some of the basics of set and cast placement, stage presence and other elements of cast show production.  Taught by The Duttons’ Show Manager, Amy Dutton with assistance from 16-year-old Duttons Gracie and Selena.
• Tales from the Tech Booth: Meet 16-year-old Gabriel and our sound engineer Alex as they show you how things happen at the Dutton Family Theater from the back of the house with lights, sound and video.  Gabriel is the Dutton who has learned almost all of the tech positions at the theater and has trained many of our adult staff!
• Q&A Session: Your students have the opportunity to ask a panel of Duttons all of the questions they want about performing on stage, television production and life behind the scenes.
• Custom Seminar: Is there a subject you would like us to cover with your studnets?  Just ask and we will be happy to put it together!

• Youth Soft Adventure:  Have an adventure!  With all the education opportunities in Branson, it is also important to HAVE FUN!  Our youth would love to escort your youth to some of their favorite fun places in Branson.  Zip Lines, Kayaking, Go Carts, the list goes on and on!  Call for more information!
