Duttons are Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
Branson, MO…From the longest word in any song to two dozen Duttons cavorting over the rooftops of London, the 2007 Dutton Family Show is their biggest extravaganza to date. In a tribute to an umbrella-wielding Mary Poppins, the rooftop stage is filled with song, dance, chimney sweeps and a surprise stage exit for the children in this heartwarming segment from their show.
From scenes that range from a jailhouse setting with Keystone Cops, to the elaborate rooftops of London and the motion of giant interconnecting gears, the Duttons have added a wide variety of visual delights to augment their talented song, dance and comedy.
The theater is filled with audience laughter during a delightfully irreverent love song serenade, then hearts melt as the Dutton couples sing their love to each other.
Throughout the show, the Duttons showcase their many talents. Timothy displays his mastery of a multitude of instruments, Amy charms everyone with her expertise on the violin, Joshua exudes his impish personality on the drums and harmonica, Ben delights with his unique style of dance and outrageous humor, Jonathan belts out the songs and frequently plays the clown, while Abigail makes the banjo and violin come alive.
Even the “commercials” keep the audience roaring as Ben and Jonathan showcase their comedic talent while marketing the Dutton CDs and DVDs that are available for purchase. And, of course, Jonathan is still looking for that one member of the audience willing to take home ten pounds of free fudge by simply buying forty pounds at the concession stand.
As Merna Leisure-Eppick of Galena said after seeing the show, “No single family should have this much talent.” That talent has also received national exposure this year as the Duttons performed as contestants on N|BC’s America’s Got Talent show.
